GUIDELINES & INSTRUCTIONS

Open to: Nevada County Boys and Girls – All ages from kindergarten to high school

3 Age Groups: Kindergarten – 3rd Grade • 4th Grade – 6th Grade • 7th Grade – 12th Grade

Project Features:

  • 2-dimensional (2-D) or 3-dimensional (3-D)
  •  Maximum Size: 20” Wide X 20” Deep X 20” High
  • Categories:  Stationery (2-D or 3-D) or  Moveable (3-D)
  • Recycled/repurposed materials: 80% of the entry must utilize recycled or repurposed materials including 2-D artwork – which can use cardboard or other flat recycled materials.

Submit design idea/concept drawing of your vehicle to your troop leader and what possible materials and supplies you will need. Work parties are set up to work on projects and provide you ideas and materials. There will be project advisors available at the work parties. Parent/Guardian must attend work parties with Scout. 

All projects must include a written biography (bio) and overview of the creation. Keep track of the materials used and how they are used, any special inspiration or special technique you used in creating your Recycled Roadsters™.

Please do a write up for the following:

Creator’s Bio: (about 50 words)

Include your Name, what grade your in, the school you attend and your favorite hobby or what you enjoy doing in your free time, your favorite class in school, etc..

Project Overview: Include any or all of the following information. Use a separate piece of paper if you would like. Please print or type out so it’s easy to read.

  • Project Title:
  • Finished size of project: height ____ X width  ____  X length ____
  • Approximately how much of your project is recycled materials?  ____%
  • Approximately how much of your project is repurposed materials?  ____%
  • What did you use to you put your project together?(include special recyced and repurposed materials)
  • Is it moveable or stationery? (if moveable – how is it powered. Ex: hand-powered, motorized, solar,  etc.)
  • Does your vehicle have any special features you’d like people to know about?
  • What inspired you to create this vehicle?
  • Does your project title have special meaning?
  • What was the best part of this project?

You are welcome to include photos of your project’s progress to help show how it was built.
